Robert is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm. He founded Burton Hill Capital with the goal to own and operate small businesses. Robert successfully completed his first acquisition in 2018 and is subsequently searching for additional business and real estate opportunities. Upon a successful acquisition, Robert will join the company's leadership to help continue to develop the team and grow the business.
Prior to founding Burton Hill Capital, Robert worked at Blue Apron where he was the first employee for their Central U.S. operations. Robert led the hiring and training of the startup team, with the operation growing to over 1,200 employees in under two years. It was this experience that cemented his commitment that people matter more than anything else. During his time at Blue Apron, Robert also lead two major facility renovations and capital investment projects totaling $18 million.
Before Blue Apron, Robert worked for four years for McMaster-Carr Supply Company. Robert started his career there in the management training program, working his way up to a supervisor and then a manager. As a manager, Robert was an integral part of the team tasked with building a new facility for the Southeast operations with a budget of $160 million.
Robert earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Duke University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Robert and his wife currently reside in Fort Worth, Texas with their young children.
Scott M. Kleberg is the sole owner of CA Partners Holdings and the Managing Member of CA Partners LLC. He was the founding principal and president of Private Equity Partners, Inc., a private equity investment firm founded in 1996 and located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Prior to founding Private Equity Partners, from 1990 to 1996 Mr. Kleberg was employed by Luther King Capital Management, an independently owned, regional investment counseling firm. As an officer of LKCM, Mr. Kleberg was responsible for investment management and for securities analysis for both publicly traded and privately held businesses. From 1984 to 1990 Mr. Kleberg was employed by King Ranch, Inc., a multi-national agribusiness concern headquartered in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Kleberg is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He has served on more than a dozen corporate boards in his capacity as a principal of Private Equity Partners, Inc.
Rusty was named President and CEO of Higginbotham in 1989 at the age of 25. Under Rusty’s leadership, Higginbotham has grown to become one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerage firms and Texas’s largest—one with full property/casualty and financial service capabilities through 25 offices and nearly 800 employees across the state. He also had the foresight to establish Higginbotham’s employee ownership structure, aligning all employees’ interests in the success of the firm. He is also Higginbotham’s highest earning sales producer, thereby leading it’s more than 200 producers by example.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration/insurance from the University of North Texas, Rusty began his insurance career in 1983 as an assistant to the principals of Ramey, King, & Minnis Insurance Agency. He moved on to American General Fire & Casualty Company as a territorial marketing manager before joining Higginbotham as its 12th employee in 1986.
Dee J. Kelly, Jr.'s practice centers upon civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels in a broad range of commercial matters. He also maintains an active administrative law practice representing parties before state and federal agencies.
Mr. Kelly is a Master Member of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court, Vice President of the Center for American International Law, a Trustee for the University of Texas Law School Foundation and is current President of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. He has been named by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Texas Super Lawyer" every year since 2003 and recognized as an "Attorney of Excellence" by the Fort Worth Business Press for over ten years. In 2011, Mr. Kelly was named one of Fort Worth’s "Power Attorneys" by the Fort Worth Business Press. He previously served on the Board of Trustees for AMR Investment Services, Inc. and was named by President George W. Bush to a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the United Service Organizations (USO). Mr. Kelly received a B.A. with honors from the University of Texas and earned his J.D. at the Universiy of Texas as well.
Scott M. Kleberg is the principal and managing member of CA Partners, LLC, a
registered investment advisor, managing investments and providing advisory services to
family groups. He also acts as the chief investment officer of Bluestem Partners, L.P., a
diversified family investment partnership. He was formerly the Chairman and controlling shareholder of
Delivery Limited, Inc., a moving, storage and logistics business headquartered in Dallas,
Texas. He was the founding principal and president of Private Equity Partners, Inc., a
private equity investment firm founded in 1996 and located in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior
to forming Private Equity Partners Mr. Kleberg was employed by Luther King Capital
Management as an investment analyst, portfolio manager, and Vice President.
Mr. Kleberg has served as a director of numerous privately held businesses in a variety of
industries including manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, consumer services,
and retail and restaurant operations. Mr. Kleberg holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s
degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
